Hurling legend, Martin Storey to host Legends Tour at GAA Museum, Croke Park
Dublin, Thursday 22nd June 2011: The GAA Museum at Croke Park has announced that Wexford hurling legend, Martin Storey will host a tour of Croke Park Stadium at 11.30am on Saturday 9th July as part of the Legends Tour Summer Series. As part of the tour, Martin will focus on his successful inter-county hurling career with Wexford from 1986 – 2001 which saw him captain the county to All-Ireland success in 1996, Wexford’s first since 1968.
Regarded as one of the county’s finest ever hurler’s, Martin’s performances for Wexford saw him achieve two All-Star awards. As with all of the tours in the Legends Tour Summer Series, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
Martin Storey’s Legends Tour will be followed throughout the summer by tours of Croke Park by other GAA legends, Ollie Canning, Ray Silke, Brian Whelahan and Tony Hanahoe.
The 2011 Legends Tour Series details are as follows:
- Bernard Flynn Legends Tour – Saturday 2nd July 11.00am
- Martin Storey Legends Tour – Saturday July 9th 11.30am
- Ollie Canning Legends Tour – Saturday 23rd July 23rd 2.00pm
- Ray Silke Legends Tour – Saturday August 20th 11.30am
- Brian Whelahan Legends Tour – Saturday August 27th 2.00pm
- Tony Hanahoe Legends Tour – Date TBC
The Legends Tour Series, which started in 2008, has been a huge success at the GAA Museum, with many GAA fans flocking to the stadium to get a unique ‘behind-the-scenes’ tour from their hurling and gaelic football heroes. These special tours provide fans with an unforgettable opportunity to hear memories and anecdotes from the players who have thrilled Croke Park crowds on so many occasions.
All tours include a trip to the recently refurbished GAA Museum which is home to many exclusive exhibits, such as the original Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy cups, as well as the recently opened exhibition, Dermot Earley – Legend and Leader which will run for 12 months.

Prices for the Legends Tours are as follows: Adult €15, Child €8.50, Student (Under 16) and Senior €10.00, Family €40.00.
