The shadow boxing, the challenge games and the speculation is over. Yes it’s championship time as the Wexford Senior Hurlers face Antrim in Portlaoise this Sunday at 2pm.
Lest we forget, it was Antrim who dumped our Leinster winning under 21’s out last year, who have beaten us in the league on a number of recent occasions and who we just scraped past in Ballycastle in February by 1 point!
Antrim come into this on the back of a battle hardening experience of playing in the Round Robin and will have no fear of Wexford. We’re hoping for a big Wexford support on the day and that this will lift the lads onto victory.
All roads lead to Portlaoise on Sunday June 1st when the Leinster Quarter finals take place in a double header.
The winners of the round robin play Wexford and the runners up play Galway.
Antrim play Laois this Sunday and with both sharing the top of the table in the round robin the winner of that clash will play Wexford.
So plan the trip up the N80.
Tickets will be on sale at the GAA Office Wexford Park on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday next week from 9.30 – 12.30 & 2.30 – 4.30 each day
