There was plenty of excitement surronding the beginners adults semi finals
in Ladies and gents singles with many of the new underage players cheering
on their parents on this occasion. The mens singles saw a 21-19,21-14 win
for Gavin Goggins over Colin Browne from Coolgraney while Castletown
footballer Jody Shaughnessy who plays handball for Coolgraney was a
21-11,15-21,21-15 winner over Ciaran Reville in the second semi final.
The Ladies semi finals saw Julie Kearny defeat Nicola Lawlor on a
13-15,15-12,15-9 score in the final she will meet Olivia Sweeny after she
beat Breda kelly 15-9, 15-13.
