There was success for two Wexford partnerships this week as the last of this years 60 x 30 Leinster finals were played out. Michael Busher and Paddy Haughton came through a three set thriller to capture the junior B doubles crown.
Busher from Bridgetown and Haughton from St Mary’s who only recently got back into handball celebrated taking the opening set 21-18 against Kilkenny duo Brendan and Diarmuid Burke . The Kilkenny borthers took the second set in true fighting spirit by 21-17 and set up a mouth watering final game.
The tide turned purple and gold however as Michale Busher and Paddy Haughton increased the tempo and charged away to win the match 21-9 and collect the junior B doubles title.
Wexford’s second success of the big alley court this week came from Tommy Hynes and Paul Carthy . Fresh from their big scalp of Michael Duxie Walsh and Eddie Burke in the semi final another big name of the big court was put to the sword as Tom Sheridan from Meath and Joe Lynch were blown away by the ST Mary’s duo who took both game 21-9 and in this kind of form are serious contenders for the All Ireland championship’s.
