Senior Scór took place in Oulart Hall on Friday night last, 3rd March. The audience present were treated to some lovely entertainment. Unfortunately only three clubs participated. The first competition of the night was the solo singing and here Oulart the Ballagh’s Jimmy Adams, St. James’ Joe Mc Donald and Bannow Ballymitty’s Leona Reville took to the stage. It was Leona Reville who emerged victorious on the night. The next competition, Recitation saw Phil Redmond from the local Oulart the Ballagh club, perform very well to qualify for the Leinster semi final. Bannow Ballymitty’s John Mernagh, Paul O’Sullivan, Jessica Reville, Melanie Carthy and Leona Reville qualified in the Ballad Group category. The final competition saw musicians from St. James’ – Claire Doyle, Mary Rowe, Joe McDonald and Simon Kennedy and Bannow Ballymitty’s Jessica, Tom & Leona Reville, Dearbhla Daly and Paul O’Sullivan perform some lively traditional music. It was Bannow Ballymitty who were crowned County Champions in this category. Bean a’Tí, Breda Jacob ensured the smooth running of the competition on the night. Chairperson Áine Kennedy commended all the competitors and wished those who qualified all the best in the Leinster semi-final. She thanked adjudicator Niall Quillinan, Oulart Hall Committee and the organising committee.
The Scór table quiz (teams of 4) takes place in St. Martin’s G.A.A. Complex on Thursday next 9th March at 8pm. All clubs are asked to participate.
