With the summer growing ever closer it is now the time that parents should consider summer camp and whether their children will be attending. The summer is long and as enjoyable as it is to be able to relax from the daily grind of school runs, children soon grow bored, but they don’t have to be.
It is fair to say that there is a huge amount of choice out there regarding summer camps, but none as highly regarded as the well-known and much loved Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp.
Whether your child is a GAA fan or not, these camps (run all over the country) are the best value and potentially the most engaging and entertaining!
What you need to know:
Each child receives FREE Kellogg’s GAA gear (a GAA zipped training top and a jersey) and a cool backpack to instantly integrate them into their new camp for the week. Run by a dedicated panel of coaches and mentors they are well experienced in promoting team activities, health and well-being.
No child is left behind, and the camps are structured so that a different part of the game is practiced on each day.
The programme involves coaching specific skills of the game and provides the opportunity for children to put into practice what they have learned through small sided games.
The Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp also promotes social interaction, problem solving and team building by applying activity and exercise into fun filled games.
During the camp week, a “blitz” is organised to provide each child with an introduction to competitive games which is exciting and stirs determination and motivation in your child.
This blitz is enjoyable and participation based, and everybody gets a go! Plus, and it is a wonderful way for the children to wrap up an exciting week while showing off their newly advanced skills!
The ethos at Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp is that everyone contributes in team sport and they are not personally led, they are created to promote a sense of belonging and reputation that everyone in a team plays a significant and vital role.
If you child is attending don’t forget these few bits below:
· Packed Lunch and drink. Don’t forget a healthy few snacks!
· Hurley and Helmet for Hurling and Camogie (Vital)
· Mouthguard for Football (vitally important)
· Suitable playing gear, tracksuit, shorts, runners, boots etc.
· Rain jacket and changes of gear on wet days (accurate for Ireland)
· Sun cream and baseball hat (a bit of wishful thinking going on here!)
· Towel.
· Water – Lots of it too as you would be surprised at how much a kiddie drinks while exercising.
Details and more:
Furthermore, it is a camp that encourages repeat participants and for a 2nd week you will be able to avail of the reduced price and rather than charge each of your children for attendance, it reduces the price for each subsequent child member.
In the ROI €60 for 1st. child; €50 for 2nd child; €40 for 3rd and subsequent children. It’s also possible to book a second camp for your child, without the gear and bag, at a reduced rate.
The whole process is easy to book, and all your children will enjoy playing games, making friends and creating new links into sports clubs.
