GAA Handball Coaching Officer open EVC One Wall Handball Court
Friday, 1st February saw the official opening of Enniscorthy Vocational College’s One Wall Handball courts. Darragh Daly, GAA Coaching Officer (Páirc an Chróicigh) attended the opening which took the format of skills demonstrations and training on the morning.
The GAA development officer worked with Transition Year and PLC students in addition to teachers in EVC getting involved. Wexford’s Handball Champion, Gavin Buggy, also attended and worked on the second Handball court with First and Second year students. Students thoroughly enjoyed the morning activity and are looking forward to utilising this new Handball facility in the days and years ahead. Prizes of jerseys and handballs marked the occasion for the winners of the skills competition.
The opening of these courts marks another step by Enniscorthy Vocational College in the enrichment of student participation in Gaelic games and the dedication of staff to the disciplines of the GAA. Well done to John Connolly (EVC teacher) for his work in getting the project up and running.
