The Wexford senior football team for Saturday evenings Leinster Championship match against Kildare in Croke Park has been announced this morning.
- Donal Shanley, the sides top scorer in the recent Allianz Football League Campaign, makes his championship debut,
- There are 3 St Fintans players including Donal.
- PJ Banville returns to championship action for his native county after lining our for New York in the Connaught championship last year .
- the half back line is an all Shelmaliers line including captain Brian Malone.
- Senior Co. Champions, St James, are represented by Kevin O’Grady
- Anthony Masterson returns to the goal again. He returned to the senior goal last year in the qualifiers after an injury break having won a Leinster Junior title during the summer.
- Last year’s Goalkeeper, Shane Roche, returns as an outfield substitute having played most of his inter-county games in the forwards.
- New Ross (5) & Wexford (8) Districts make up 13 of the starting 15.
