It was announced at last nights county board by county Chairman Diarmuid Deveraux that the development squad structures in Wexford are to be shaken up. They will now run on a District basis, Enniscorthy, Gorey, New Ross and Wexford. Each of the 4 districts will have a director to oversee the squad, feeding into county squads for
intercouty tournaments etc. These directors will be volunteers; the full time coaching staff from Wexford Park will focus on coach development and education, increasing the capability of coaches across the county and so maximising their impact.
This radical departure will it is hoped lead to the development of more elite players and lifting all boats in the county.
