Michael Duffin of Horeswood has been appointed as manager of the County Junior Football team for 2012.
At the last County Board meeting, Chairman Diarmuid Devereux announced that he had not been able to find anyone to manage this team and if no one was found soon the county would have to pull out of that championship this year.
But County Senior Champions Horeswood stepped into the breach and nominated Michael Duffin for the post. Michael had previously been involved as mentor with his Club side as they won three County Senior titles in recent years.
This nomination has been accepted by management and Michael will begin seeking selectors and then players for the first round game on May 30th against the winners of Cavan and Dublin.
We wish Michael well in his new role.
