The sad news has reached us of the death of Tom Williams. Tom was a proud Wexford man and active supporter of Wexford and Taghmon GAA over the years. Tom was also a noted historian, author and songwriter. He had written seven genealogical books on Wexford families, as well as contributing to many periodicals and newpapers.
One of his most famous works was ‘With Heart and Hand – The Inside Story of Wexford’s Hurling Resurgence’ – this book chronicled the journey of our senior hurlers in 1996 to All Ireland success. Later he also wrote the acclaimed ‘Cuchullain’s Son – The Story of Nickey Rackard’ which brought the great man to life for a whole new generation.
Wexford GAA extends it sympathies to the Williams family including, his wife Marie, daughters Joanne and Annette and his son David.
