Wexford GAA is delighted to announce the appointment of Anthony Masterson as Games Development Administrator with responsibility for Gaelic football. Anthony who represented Wexford from 2005 to 2016 has a proven track record in coaching, will take responsibility for the development of Gaelic football within the county. He will work with clubs, schools and talent academies to build a pool of coaches and players. He will also work with the Football Advisory Committee who has commenced the formation of a five year plan for Gaelic football.
This appointment forms part of an ongoing restructuring of Coaching and Games within the county. As previously announced, Willie Cleary take a career break from his teaching position to commence work as Hurling Player Development Coordinator this week. Willie has been responsible for the Hurling 365 concept and has coached at all levels including senior inter county level. He will be responsible for the implementation of an action plan for hurling.
Further developments in coaching and games include a planned root and branch review of Talent Academies and a targeted approach to increasing urban participation and announcements will be made shortly on these matters.
