Oulart was the venue for the Scór na nÓg County final last Friday night. A great night’s entertainment was provided by young people representing their local G.A.A. clubs. The first competition of the night was Figure Dancing. Here the girls from Ballyhogue gave a beautiful performance of the High Caul Cap and will advance to represent Wexford in the Leinster Semi Final. The girls representing Ballyhogue are Ciara McKelvie, Alysha Murphy, Dawn O’Rourke, Sadhbh Kirwan, Johanna Wickham, Lucy Forte, Shauna Dunne, Leah Curran. Sub: Charlene Murphy.
Next competition of the night was the solo-singing and here Bannow Ballymitty’s Leona Reville and Kayleigh Moran and Cloughbawn’s Amy Hogan and Stephanie Kinsella did their clubs proud. In the end it was Stephanie Kinsella who was selected to advance to the next round of the competition. The Instrumental Music competition proved very strong with great performances from Naomh Éanna, Rathgarogue-Cushinstown, Ballygarrett Réalt na Mara and Bannow Ballymitty. The musicians representing their clubs were Rathgarogue Cushinstown: Aidan, Rebecca & Emmet O’Sullivan Ryan, Grace & Hope Barron. Ballygarrett, Réalt na Mara:Cathal Lee, Kate O’Loughlin, Jordan Redmond, Róisín O’Connor, Aisling Kelly.Bannow-Ballymitty: Jon Reville, Tom Reville, Michael Martin, Shelly O’Grady, Louise Colfer. Naomh Éanna Gorey:Róisín Rooney, Lorna Cushe, Aoibheann Doyle, Aideen Byrne, Hilda Browne. Bannow Ballymitty advance to the Leinster semi final in this competition.
Again the recitation competition was very entertaining with Oulart’s Sabrina Kehoe, Gusserane’s Eimear Lacey, Naomh Éanna’s Michael O’ Dwyer and Brónagh Hogan from Cloughbawn competiting for honours. In the end it was Brónagh Hogan’s rendition of The Auld Gael that came out on top in this category.
Bannow-Ballymitty were again victorious in the Ballad Group competition with Michael Martin, Geraldine Walsh, Louise Colfer, Melanie Carthy and Leona Reville winning with their rendition of Mandela and Téir Abhaile. There was strong competition here again with Naomh Éanna, Oulart and Bannow Ballymitty A also performing very well. Representatives of these groups were

Following a short break, the quiz got underway and once again it was the Gusserane-O’Rahilly’s team who came out on top this year. They are represented by Eimear Lacey, Aoidín Kiely and Stephen Whelan. Also competing in this competition were Buffers Alley, Naomh Éanna and Cloughbawn.
The final competition of the night was the Novelty Act and here Bannow Ballymitty were the only competitors. The team of Louise, John & Joanne Colfer, Clem & Jane Rossiter, Melanie Carthy, Tom Reville and Tom Moran provided great entertainment for the audience and will represent Wexford in the Leinster Semi Final next weekend. The Leinster Semi Final will take place in Carnew on Saturday next 10th December at 3p.m. We wish all our competitors the best of luck.
