The Allianz Rackard League Camogie competitions will reach their climax this Tuesday 31st May in Wexford Park in what promises to be an enthralling evenings entertainment.
The Roinn B final will get underway at 6.30 between Craanford and Castlebridge. Both these teams met in the group stages with Castlebridge coming out on top. Castlebridge, powered by the Curracloe sevens teams that lost out narrowly to Monageer in the final, have a skilful team and will be looking to Jessie Harding, Mikeala Lannigan, Larah Campbell, Jamie Devereux, Fiona Kinsella and Chloe Mythen for inspiration. Craanford’s teamwork and determination have served them well this year and they have made excellent progress since capturing the Roinn C title last year. Castlebridge overcame Taghmon in the semi while Craanford proved too strong for Blackwater.
The Allianz Roinn A Final will start at 7.45 and sees holders Rathnure take on Piercestown in a repeat of last years final. Again these sides met in the group stages with Piercestown edging it. Rathnure have a fine team in the best traditions of this camogie stronghold and have had great performances from Leanne Foley, Neamh Smyth, Ornagh Doyle, Ava Conran, Aoife Guiney, Rhys Hogan, and Sive Ó Bolguidhir. The work ethic and team work of the Piercestown girls has seen them remain undefeated throughout the year and hopefully it will prove as entertaining as last year’s high scoring thriller.
Allianz Rackard League Hurling Update.
The Allianz Rackard League Hurling is also nearing completion with both the Rionn A and B at semi final stage.
In Roinn A both St. Senan’s and Cushinstown won through in the quarters against Barntown and St.Aidan’s respectively. St.Senan’s will meet Piercestown in Taghmon on Wednesday at 3.45 while Gorey CBS and Cushinstown will meet in the other semi. Both Taghmon and Ferns came through the group stages impressively and will meet Buffers Alley and Rathangan respectively in the semi finals.
