O’Toole marches on
Coolgreaney based handballer Darren O’Toole had a good win this week in the Junior Singles of the Leinster 60 x 30 Championship when he defeated Ger McGrath of Kilkenny. The Wexford man took an early lead in the first game before he lost his toss going out 6-0 up. Then both players traded scores until 17 apiece in the first game. The Kilkenny man then made 20 before he was put out but he managed to take the first game on a scoreline of 21-17. This left O’Toole with a uphill battle on his hand and he went out in the second game and proved his worth. The Wexford man took an early 11-2 lead and then ended up winning the second game 21-16. So to the third and final game in which O’Toole raced into a 8-0 lead before losing his toss. Points were then traded between both players until the Wexford man took command of the third game and won on a scoreline of 21-18. This marathon game lasted for over one hour forty minutes before it was deservedly won by O’Toole who played some excellent handball.

An open invitation goes out to all adult and juveniles connected with Wexford Handball to attend the launch of our new website which takes place this Thursday the 26th of June in White’s Hotel, Wexford at 7.20pm sharp. A great night will be in store for the launch of the website and then afterwards an briefing from the County Board in relation Wexford Handball.
St Joseph’s boys champs again!!!!!
Huge congratulations to St Joseph’s handball club who won division 3 Feile Na Gael 40 x 20 All Ireland final. Cian Kehoe, Josh McMahon, Richard Lawlor, Diarmuid Moore and Colm Kiely all represented the Wexford club on their way to victory.
