All Ireland Handball.
There is an all Wexford clash this Wednesday night in St Mary’s handball club in Wexford town as All Ireland Open Doubles champions in the big court Colin Keeling and Barry Goff put their title on the line against home town opposition of Gavin Buggy and Paul Lambert.
Goff and Keeling won the title last year in impressive fashion and they are firm favourites for this clash and also favourites to be in the winners enclosure on finals night, however the Buggy Lambert combination go into this game with nothing to lose and the underdog tag may bring out the best of both players in St Marys at 7.30 pm on Wednesday night.
In Limerick on Saturday afternoon in Broadford there is a double of matches involving Wexford players, In the Junior B doubles All Ireland semi final Paddy Haughton and Michael Busher are up against Sean Murphy and Anthony Donnelly from Limerick, while following that in the Minor Doubles All Ireland semi final Gaelon Riordan and Padraig Foley are up against Cork opposition in the form of Michael Hedigan and Daniel Rellahan.
The junior doubles semi final takes place in Ballymitty this coming Saturday afternoon at 3pm as Darren O’Toole and Malachy Whelan face the stiff challenge of David Hickey and Michael Carroll from Tipperary.
This coming weekend the Juvenile All Ireland semi finals also take place and best of luck is expressed to all Wexford players taking part.
Entries for Winter league
Entries are now being sought for this years winter handball league which begins on the 3rd of September, all entries must be with club and the county secretary by Friday the 10th of August .
