The Leinster Final of Senior Scór was held in Ballymore, Co. Westmeath last weekend. Despite a strong performance, Wexford did not win any titles. Réalt na Mara, Ballygarrett were first on stage in the Instrumental Music Competition. Tommy O’Donoghue, Karen Johnson, Therese Kehoe, Conor Stafford and Eddie Black played some very lively music on banjo, fiddle, accordion, guitar and bongo but it was Offaly who emerged victorious in this competition. Horeswood’s Quiz Team were beaten by the local team from Westmeath. Cloughbawn’s Novelty Act group of Liam Spratt, John Foley, Ned Hogan, Martin Murphy, Ger Flood, Nicholas Kehoe, Mary Doyle and AnnMarie Greene put on a humerous performance of The Nursing Home but were beaten by a strong act from Carnew.
Bannow Ballymitty Scór na nÓg Leinster Champions had the honour of playing music during the interval of the All Ireland Club Hurling match in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s Day. Well done to the musicians Paul O’Sullivan, Jon Reville, Jessica Reville, Jessica Martin, Dearbhla Daly and Michael Martin who represented their club, county and province with distinction on the day.
