Focus Ireland are absolutely delighted to be holding their inaugural Wexford Shine a Light Night in the Innovate Wexford Park on October 12th. As Focus Ireland historically has only held these events in Dublin and Cork, it is a real testament to Wexford and Wexford GAA that this event is the first one nationwide outside of those cities. Shine a Light Night is Focus Irelands biggest fundraiser of the year with a target of €1million nationwide. Focus Ireland works here in Wexford supporting individuals and families who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness and they helped over 110 people in Wexford in 2017.
By becoming a Shine a Light participant you will be joining other individuals, groups, clubs, organisations, big and small, around the country on Friday October 12th and sleeping-out in solidarity with people experiencing homelessness in Ireland today. There are over 10,000 people homeless in Ireland today and shockingly almost 4000 of those are children under the age of 12. The funds you raise will go directly towards helping Focus Ireland work to end homelessness. In 2017, people all over Ireland took part in Shine a Light Night and raised in excess of €800,000.
We do hope that you will support this event by either joining us in the Innovate Wexford Park or if you want by organizing your own event in your own grounds.
We do ask that if you are coming to the Innovate Wexford park you do register your attendance in advance by emailing [email protected]. Once you have registered we can then help you to set up a bespoke online fundraising page (EverydayHero) and sponsorship cards. Donations will also be accepted on the night.
What happens on the night: On the night sign in will be in Wexford Park from 8pm. We will then have some information session re our work nationwide and here in Wexford including some life stories and also an exhibition of Art around the subject of homelessness.
