There was a hard fought win for Wexford senior footballers tonight in Fraher Field Dungarvan against hosts Waterford.
Wexford had led by 6 points to 3 at half time and despite Waterford scoring first in the second half Wexford were ahead by 10-4 with just ten minutes gone in the final half.
Waterford would not go away however and put together dome fine passages of football to score six unanswered point to bring the sides level with just five minutes remaining.
As the 70- minutes went into additional time the scores were still tied but Wexford then scored tow quick points to give an edge. Waterford hit back to leave the minimum between the teams and a frantic closing minute.
Thankfully Wexford held on for their 3rd victory. The final score in this Allianz Football League Division 4 game was Wexford 0-12 Waterford 0-11.
Next up is the double header on March 14th in Innovate Wexford Park when the footballers play Wicklow and the hurlers, who are in Tralee tomorrow, play Offaly
